A Vibrant Symphony, Part II 

The British artist and filmmaker Steve McQueen installed “Bass” at Schaulager Basel. TThe piece has since been adapted to complement Schaulager’s own architectural character, flooding the space with a 40-minute, immersive presentation of low-frequency tones and spears of shifting hues.

The British artist and filmmaker Steve McQueen installed “Bass” at DIA Beacon. The immersive environment spans 35,000 feet, with 60 lightboxes that cycle through the spectrum of visible light as bass music plays.
